He is Brown, white, and yellow if I recall. Stallion's color scheme is completely different. The room with the block puzzle in angel tower has one of the passages decreased in width and you can't get into random battles to teleport to the top to skip the puzzle. Heavy Dagger is now more accurately called "Frost Dagger." I think this was done on purpose because there's no other parts like it in the game. The electric room with the machine soldier in the "Factory" has permanent slowdown which actually makes it a lot easier to do that sequence of lever presses. Some slowdown before attacks until you've had the game on for a bit. In short, a very enjoyable game, albeit a bit on the easy side.AFAIK it's the same with better graphics, picture gallery and the ability to share fishing minigames with friends.ĮDIT: Someone made a list of the differences: The combo system is similar, sometimes the combos just don't trigger and I can't tell why. I'm not sure if there's a secret to it but it's not as consistent. Learnable skills being universal allows you to experiment with builds but it can be sometimes a hassle to learn them. I have mixed feelings about the skill and combo system. The masters are an interesting approach to min-maxing too and having them teach skills based on specific achievements is also very cool as it encourages the player to really use the combat system to its full potential. I like that even though you have reserve party members, they're still in combat in a back row. It also has some very cool mechanics to it. They could have done even more with the dual protagonist setup tbh. The setting inspired by Asian cultures, coupled with the soundtrack gives BoFIV a very unique feeling to it, something that I feel is sorely missing in many RPGs. One of the few titles of that generation that has aged beautifully.
Great game with some of the best art on the PSone. I'm about 20h in and almost done from what I can tell (I just reached Lyp).
